BACKGROUND NOTES

Having come from a family engaged in Engineering, I decided to follow that profession, but determined to further my interest in Art as a 'free time' subject. In 1968 I met the Hungarian artist Gyula Sajo, a former professor of Budapest University, who fled to Britain at the
1956 Uprising, and who had his Studio in Worthing, West Sussex. I joined him as a private student, and followed courses in Drawing and Painting, including Life, Still Life and Landscape, until 1976.

Through the following years, my facility with freehand sketching was
a great benefit with my professional life of Engineering Design.
Since retirement, I have been able to devote my time to Art,
working in Oils, Watercolours, Gouache and Lino-cut printing.
